Off to South Africa

We are excited for our trip across South Africa, but at the same time dreading the long flight to get there. Our flight left Rochester at noon and after a 6 hour layover in Atlanta where we thankfully got to spend the time in the Delta Club, we boarded our 15 hour flight to South Africa, It was a good flight and we even managed a few hours of sleep on the way. Charlie got to sit in the cockpit of the gigantic Airbus 350-900 and the pilot gave him a special Delta trading card of the aircraft. We arrived in Cape Town at 5:15PM South African time (11:15 AM back home) - over 24 hours of travel, but we all made it and the flight was on time.

There was a greeter waiting for us who got us boarded onto a van to the Radisson Blu, right on the Capetown waterfront. Since we were pretty exhausted we elected for dinner at the hotel which turned out to be a great choice. The food was great and not expensive.

Below are a few photos (mostly of Charlie) from our long travels. We definitely need some sleep but we should be ready for some fun times tomorrow,.
