Harstad
As we arrived in Harstad, right in the city center we were greeted with a beautiful sunny day. Our day here was a long one and we had no excursion plans so we decided to walk around and see what there was to see.
Harstad is a larger city that many of our previous stops. We enjoyed a walk along the boardwalk.
There was a city-wide arts festival going on so lots of people were out enjoying the day, There were lots of activities for kids and adults.
We visited a wonderful gallery called Gallery North Norway. It had a great and unusual exhibit of textiles created by a Norwegian artists, Tonje Pur called “Too Hot To Make Fashion. We loved it.
Our original plan was to have dinner off of the ship since our departure wasn’t till 10 PM but we were invited to a special dinner hosted by the ship’s captain so we changed plans. I’m sure the dinner off ship would have been terrific, but we were glad we changed our plans. We had a chance to have conversations with people on the ship we’d not met, The food and wine were outstanding.
Before heading in for the night we walked around the ship to enjoy the end of another wonderful day in Norway.
